The Influence of Sponge Density on the Comfort of Sofa Cushions
The commonly used sofa cushions with different densities ad various combinations are used as research objects. Subjective evaluation and objective body pressure distribution test are combined to analyze the effects of different density sponges and their combined forms on human body comfort. The optimum sponge density and its combination of parameter ranges are determined. The results showed that the sofa cushions with different densities and various combination have a great influence on the comfort of the human body, but the comfort is the result of comprehensive factors, which is related to the density of the sponge, the sunken hardness, and the rebound index. The sitting comfort of sofa is not the greater the density of the sponge the better, there is a optimized sponge combination with the density of 32-35 kg/m2
